Another Voice Lost Too Soon

It is with a heavy heart that the world is coping with yet another musical loss. American singer and songwriter and NBC The Voice alum, Christina Grimmie was fatally shot during a meet-and-greet at her Orlando concert just last night. This senseless act puts into the spotlight the conversations of violence and gun control but also dramatically questions where people can continue to be safe in public.
Last year's November 2015 Paris attacks shook the world, just 10 months after the January 2015 attacks in Paris on Charlie Hebdo offices and a Jewish supermarket, in which terrorists endangered, injured and killed hundreds of lives at the Bataclan theatre, where American band Eagles of Death Metal were performing, and opened fire and bombed various surrounding areas and sites.
It is despicable that these senseless acts of violence happen. A concert is supposed to be a safe haven for fans that gather for their favorite artist or band. All worries should be left at the door, if only for the sweet hour, two hours, or however long one is able lose themselves to the music. We may never fully understand how this and many other unfortunate events happen but what is more important is that we grow and continue to remember these beautiful lives lost with love.
To make a donation to the Grimmie family during their time of need, you can visit the GoFundMe page created by Christina's manager here.
Here's a small look back on Christina's early YouTube start and career:
