A day before Super Bowl 50, Beyoncé drops her new music video "Formation" for the world to see. Most artists will utilize tons of marketing and promotion to ensure the success of a new song--- but not Beyoncé. She just casually posted it on YouTube and a Instagram post.
The video has imagery of her chilling on a cop car during a flood in New Orleans, dancing in Civil War attire, and just breaking it down like she always does. We cannot forget the precious cameo of Blue Ivy. No one could have pulled off the casual release of this video. The "unlisted" video featured on Beyoncé.com already has over 13 million views in two days.
This release was the perfect buildup to her Super Bowl performance with Coldplay and Bruno Mars, which she COMPLETELY slayed by the way, and the announcement of the Formation World Tour. Halftime was all about Beyoncé. I'm sorry Coldplay and Bruno, but Beyoncé was the star that night. The whole thing was a strategic promotion to excite the consumer and make them want to see more.
I don't know about ya'll, but I am gonna be fighting my way to see Beyoncé on her 40-date world tour.
